How to copy text from an image
Paste the image
Press Ctrl + V (Cmd + V on a Mac) with a screenshot in your clipboard, drop an image onto the page, or tap Paste on your phone. You can also choose a file.
AI reads the text
In a few seconds the text shows up as it's written: same language, same line breaks, no summaries or comments. You can fix anything before copying.
Copy it, or send it to your phone
Press Copy and paste it wherever you need it. Need it on another device? Save it to Colurus and it's ready to copy on your phone, laptop or work PC.
Faster than retyping, cleaner than a chat
Text stuck in a screenshot, a photo of a document, a slide or a menu usually means typing it all over again. Here you paste the image and copy the text. It reads printed text, screenshots, handwriting that's clear enough, and text in any language, including accents.
An AI chat can do it too, but it tends to summarize, translate or add comments, and it asks for an account. This page only returns the text, exactly as it is, with one button to copy it.

Is it free? Do I need an account?+
It's free and there's no signup: you can read 5 images a day. If you need more, sign in free with Google and your account reads 10 images a day with AI. When you hit the limit you can still read the image in your browser, without AI, with no limit.
Do you keep my image?+
No. The image is shrunk in your browser, read and thrown away: it isn't stored on our servers. Only if you choose to save the text to Colurus does the text stay in your account.
Which languages does it read?+
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian and most languages written in Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese or Korean script. The text comes back in its original language; it isn't translated.
