Privacy Policy

Colurus is a cloud clipboard: you save text, links, images and code, and copy them back on any device. This page explains what data we use for that, and nothing else.
Your account
- You sign in with Google. From your Google account we get your name, email and profile picture, and nothing else.
- We never see or store your Google password.
What you save
- The text, links, code and images you save, their notes and your boards are stored in your account. Only you can see them, except boards you make public.
- Images are kept in private storage and shown through links that expire.
- When you save a link, our server visits that page to read its title and image.
- When you save an image, we send it to OpenAI to get tags, a description and any text in it, so you can search for it. OpenAI doesn't use it to train its models.
- You can delete anything at any time. Deleted items are removed from the database and from storage.
The Chrome extension
- The extension only saves what you choose: with a right-click, the keyboard shortcut or by pasting into its popup. It uses the session you already have on colurus.com.
- It doesn't read your history or the pages you visit.
- "Save what I copy in Chrome" is off by default. If you turn it on, it saves every text you copy on a page (Ctrl + C or the site's "Copy" button) and images copied by a button on the site. It never saves what you copy from a password or card field, or anything you copy outside Chrome. Turn it off and it stops.
- In your browser it keeps your latest saves, your boards and your settings, so it opens fast.
Payments
- Pro payments are handled by Polar. Polar sees your card, we don't. We keep your plan and your subscription dates.
Analytics and ads
- We use PostHog to see which parts of Colurus get used and to fix bugs, including recordings of visits. In those recordings, what you type and what you saved is hidden.
- We use the Meta pixel to measure our ads: it counts visits and sign-ups. What you save is never used for advertising.
- If you arrive from an ad, we keep where you came from when you create your account.
Where your data lives
- We use Supabase (database, accounts and images), Vercel (the website), OpenAI (image tags), Polar (payments), PostHog (analytics) and Meta (ads). Each one only gets what it needs for its job.
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
Deleting your account
- Email us from your account's address and we'll delete your account and everything you saved.
